Le pARTy Art Auction 2015

The Ottawa Art Gallery, 2015

In 2015, as a community partner for the Ottawa Art Gallery's fundraiser Le pARTy Art Auction, the Ottawa Mission's Food Services program provided delicious food to 350 guests. This support ensured a successful fundraiser. Since Le pARTy event the partnership between the Ottawa Art gallery and the Ottawa Mission has grown and monthly art therapy drop-in workshops are offered free of charge to the Mission's clients.

Jury Comments: "This partnership serves a demographic that does not often feel welcomed or engaged at a gallery. This type of partnership and the role of the gallery in contributing to social factors in a community are going to increase and become more common."

Jennifer Nicoll

Collections Manager/Exhibition Coordinator

9 Years of Service

Agnes Etherington Art Centre

Jury Comments: "[We] recognize Jennifer Nicoll for the breadth and depth of her engagement across different projects at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre during the last nine years. It is not easy to champion the cause of digitization and the role of a collections manager does not often receive much recognition, but Jennifer's work in this area accmomplishes much for the future of the Agnes through improvements to collection maintenance and storage, and increasing public access to the collection. [We] are awed at the sheet number of shipments Jennifer oversees annually, and acknowledge the amount of work involved in negotiating each one. This work is invisible to many outside of the field, yet it is integral to the success of gallery programming. Her mentorship of sutdent interns represents a significant investment in a new generation of workers in the field. The passion Jennifer brings to this position is priceless."
